Public Schools
For over 100 years, Des Moines Public Schools has been educating the students of Iowa’s capital city. Today, we are the largest provider of public education in Iowa, with more than 33,000 students and nearly 5,000 teachers and staff at work in more than 60 schools throughout the community.
Storyhouse BookPub will help the Spark Foundation by serving as a location to host special fundraising events, acting as a donation site, or provide monetary donations. Located right around the corner from McKinley Elementary school, our new partnership will increase the number of high-quality books we are able to donate to the students of McKinley.
A locally owned bookstore in East Village, Des Moines, Storyhouse BookPub is a natural partner for Spark. Founded and operated by Abbey Paxton, Storyhouse BookPub offers a diverse collection of stories for readers of all ages. Abbey has over seven years of experience in the book industry and shares our love of reading.
