Spark Foundation update - COVID-19

Thanks to the help of our volunteers, sponsors, individuals contributors, and an outstanding group of school administrators and teachers, Spark's been able to engage with students at different metro area schools by hosting "Love to Read" no-cost book events, in classroom reading sessions, and book deliveries.Â
Like other volunteer-based nonprofits, we are trying to come to grips with what our programs look like in a post-COVID-19 society. At this time, we have not come up with a permanent go-forward model (we do not know how events will play out over the next 6-8 months), but we are developing a process that will allow Spark to continue supporting students through the end of the school year. Â
With the help of school administrators, Spark Foundation-sponsored books will be included with select educational packets schools are distributing to students we have worked with all school year (1st-grade students at Monroe and 3rd-grade students at Moulton and River Woods elementary).Â
As we continue to develop plans for how Spark programs will support students in the 2020/21 school year, we will keep you informed, and we thank you for your continued support.Â
